______________

Student Assignment: Compare Lifestyles

Having read Desert Almond Farmer, elementary students will be asking themselves a pro/con  question. Is life better off today with all its conveniences and shorter working hours or was it more personally gratifying in the early 1900s working hard and enjoying  leisure time activities to a greater degree?
This can be written as an essay or stated in a pro/con format.
In a pro/con format one takes one side of an issue.
  • Paragraph 1-----State which side of the issue you are on.
  • Paragraph 2, 3, 4 -----  Support your side of the issue.
  • Paragraph  5 ----- State the opposing point of view.
  • Paragraph  6 ----- Summarize all points, but come back to your side of the issue.
